Taken at 2:02, as the shadow starts to cover the moon...it was awesome
Taken at 2:47, as the colors started to take over the moon - because of absence of light and shutter that was VERY slow at this point, a bit of shake occurred, even while using a tripod.
By 3:30, the moon was almost completely shaded, and using the naked eye, it almost appeared to be, which surprised me in that the pictures proved there was still room left.
3:32...this was in the same "cluster", but just loved the way it turned out, so I included it as well.
By now (4:03) we were well past the halfway point and were pulling away, showing the reflection of the sun's light against the face of the moon again.
4:29am, the moon was mostly clear and as there was a gentle morning dew in the air, the brilliance of the white filled the sky. I decided at this point to get my 2 hours of sleep - I had to get ready for work after all.
So I braved the long night (made even longer by the fact that I was up the previous night (almost all night) working...so suffice it to say, thank God for Mt. Dew or I would probably be dead now, but I wasn't going to miss the "once in a lifetime" winter lunar eclipse.
So...images posted (we'll see how they turn out untouched when loaded)...
